What Global Unpaid is
Global Unpaid is an information site about one narrow, common problem: work that has been done and not paid for. Unpaid wages, unpaid overtime, a final paycheck that never arrived, an invoice a client keeps ignoring.
It exists because the useful information on this subject is scattered across government pages written for lawyers, and the rest of the internet answers the question with a sales pitch. We try to say plainly what the rules are, what your options are, and what each one costs you in time.
What we cover
- Unpaid wages and what to do in the first days
- Unpaid overtime, and when you are actually owed it
- Final paycheck rules, which differ by state
- Filing a wage claim with a labour department
- Unpaid internships and when they are not lawful
- Freelancers and contractors chasing unpaid invoices
- Time limits, because almost every route has a deadline
What this site is not
This is the part most sites leave out, so we will be direct about it.
- We are not a law firm, and nothing here is legal advice. It is general information. Your situation has facts we do not know.
- We do not represent anyone, take cases, or act on your behalf.
- We are not a government body. When a claim has to be filed, it is filed with a labour department or a court, not with us.
- We are not connected to any other company with a similar name. If you are looking for a different organisation, check the address bar: this site is globalunpaidllc.com.
If your situation involves a large sum, a dismissal, a signed contract in dispute, or a deadline close to expiring, speak to an employment lawyer. Many offer a free first consultation, and some take wage cases on a no-win-no-fee basis.
How we write
Every rule we state is tied to the body that sets it — a labour department, a statute, a court. Where rules differ by state or country, we say so rather than giving one answer and hoping it fits. Where something is genuinely uncertain, we say that too.
Laws change. Articles carry the date they were last reviewed, and anything older than a year should be checked against the current rules before you act on it.
Corrections
If something here is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will fix it and date the change on the article. You do not need to prove it — pointing at it is enough for us to check.
